Napier Sailing Club hosted the OK Dinghy fleet for Marty's Brass Monkey Regatta over the Queen's Birthday weekend, 30-31 May, raced this year for the Marty Weeks Memorial trophy. Light conditions on the Saturday meant the series came down to three races sailed on the Sunday, with eleven boats on the water.
Rod Davis (Wakatere Boating Club) was in unbeatable form, winning all three races for a perfect scoreline and the overall win. It was a fitting result given Davis - known to generations of Kiwi sailors simply as "Coach" - had made the trip up from Auckland especially for the regatta. Thanks for travelling, Coach, and for giving the local fleet some hard racing!

Behind him it was a great occasion for the Weeks family, with all three brothers - Joshua, Kagan and Jake - out racing OKs at Napier. Joshua Weeks finished second and Kagan Weeks third to round out the podium, while Jake Weeks placed fifth. Having all three Weeks boys on the start line together for the first running of the Marty Weeks Memorial made for a proud, fitting occasion.

Grant Simmonds (4th) and Adrian Coulthard (6th) led the rest of the local fleet home, with John Shirley, Chris Pike, Martin Pike, Kai Mueller and Ed Goody rounding out the results.
